LinkedIn profile

Anna is an education professional with experience in teaching, advising and adult learning both within and outside of academia. As an undergraduate she explored the fields of history, anthropology, international studies, art and environmental studies at the American University in Bulgaria and Columbia University and had a taste of urban studies at the University of Helsinki.  Her interest in helping people learn took her to an international graduate studies program in Adult Learning and Global Change, where her home institution was Linkoping University in Sweden.

Prior to joining SCaRP at Georgia Tech, Anna was an advisor for the College of Computing and Software Engineering at Kennesaw State University. She has been professionally involved with projects at Georgia State University, Oregon State University, Sofia University of Forestry, Columbia University, the American University in Bulgaria, and various non-profit education and learning-related initiatives, including the Fulbright Program.

She sees advising as a collaborative, holistic, student-centered endeavor where the advisor’s role is to support students on their personal path to success by helping each and every student become a resilient and efficient independent learner.  She’ll urge you to be a deliberate experimenter in your own learning and provoke you to step out of your comfort zone.

When not busy with SCaRP work or her graduate studies in art&design, you can find Anna on the dance floor, in her art studio, in the mountains, at the beach, in her garden, or in bed with a book.
