Research Interest:

Wesley A. Brooks is the Deputy Commissioner for Homeownership at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and Deputy Executive Director of the Georgia Housing Finance Authority, where he oversees statewide homeownership strategies. Previously, he served as senior vice president and homeownership lead at the Wells Fargo Foundation, implementing national philanthropic initiatives.

Brooks has also served as chief housing officer at Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, manager of housing policy and outreach at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and a program leader for major community development and housing rehabilitation initiatives in Atlanta. A decorated U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officer, he holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Hampton University and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and he has served on several boards and committees focused on housing, land use, and community development.
