Sei Yoshioka-Cefalo joined the SCaRP team as Academic Program Manager in November 2019. He is now the Assistant Director of Administrative Operations and oversees finances and budgeting, human resources, and general operations of the School of City & Regional Planning. Sei has made a career change by joining SCaRP, as he provided mental health counseling, career counseling, and academic advisement to both undergraduate and graduate school populations for the first 19 years of his career in higher education.

A native of New York City, he spent his time growing up in the United States and in Japan, and completed his undergraduate degree in psychology from International Christian University in Tokyo. He attained his master’s degree in counseling and guidance from New York University, and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York and a State of Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor.

He enjoys practicing aromatherapy and candle making in his spare time. He is a commercial aviation enthusiast and collects model airplanes; his collection has grown to almost 200, which he has no more room left at home, so he has expanded his airport to his office. If you’re ever visiting SCaRP, make sure to visit Sei’s office and check out his airport!
