I am committed to preparing the next generation of urban planning professionals by connecting academic concepts with real-world practice. My teaching style emphasizes applied learning, drawing on my professional experience in comprehensive and small-area planning, community outreach, and public-sector collaboration. I focus on equipping students with the tools of the trade—both the technical skills and the professional expectations essential for being successful in their future careers. 
I aim to create a learning environment where students can explore the use of various tools and concepts to amplify their work. A core part of my approach is helping these future professionals understand how to translate solid research and policy analysis into clear, accessible communication, and building their confidence in distilling complex ideas into easy-to-understand graphics that resonate with decision-makers and the community their work will serve. Ultimately, my goal is to give back by mentoring emerging planners and ensuring they enter the profession with a strong foundation in practical skills.
